Avatar Nails and Wavy Hair :)

I went last week and seen Avatar with my boyfriend. I was inspired to create Avatar themed nails with Konad. I would have added glitter to the dots if I had glitter nail art pens. (Like the glowing freckles the Na'vi have.) I used Zoya's Jo for the background color and blue Konad stamping polish and plate number M73. I hope you like it. It is a more subtle look but that is what I was going for. I still have them done this way today :)

For the wavy hair:

I started at the nape of the neck and sectioned my hair with my fingers not a comb and braided. I worked in layers ending with the top of my head. Like so:

Then I left them in overnight and took them out and added Jonathan Leave in Conditioner to reduce frizzies and smooth it.

I hope you enjoyed my blog! Please follow and also follow me on twitter and youtube. My username on both is awesomevegan. :) Thanks for reading!

Thanks for your comments! Oh and Valerie, I will tell you more about Zoya. :) I love it! They are vegan, and free of Toulene, DBP, Formaldehyde and Camphor. They have over 300 colors to choose from and release collections with the seasons. :) Glad you found me I love meeting vegans!

Thank you, AwesomeVegan, for clarifying Zoya for me! It sounds like a great product! I bet it doesn't have such a strong chemical smell since it doesn't have all those extra chemicals--go figure! :) Do you know if Zoya is available at retails stores, like Whole Foods? Or do I have to order it over the internet? Maybe I should check a beauty supply store...

I too love to meet other vegans! And you seem like such a nice one! Your blog is full of fun, green, and compassionate info! I really like that! And of course, you are welcome to check out my blogs anytime and say hello!

Talk to you again soon! :)

Valerie, Zoya is for the most part online only. Some people have found them in beauty supply stores or on ebay etc. You will find all of the colors however on www.zoya.com or www.artofbeauty.com (same site but I think when you type the first one it takes you to the second site. Don'w worry though it is the same company.) If you have twitter you can follow Zoya. The username is zoya_nailpolish. You can find out about promotions and sales like 50 percent off or buy one get one, free shipping etc. The Hot Lips Lip Gloss are not vegan but all the nail polish is.

KONADomania, yes go see Avatar!!! :)

I saw Avatar in 3D and I was blown away, what a film! I just got the M73 Konad plate and I feel compelled to steal - I mean pay homage to your skills by recreating this ridiculously gorgeous manicure :D If that is OK :)

Wow, Jenny! My name is Jen too. I am flattered that you would want to copy me. :) Feel free to spread the Avatar love around. If you have a blog and post pics of it let me know. I would love to see it :)

So your name's Jen? Cool! I guess you already know my name... :)

Thanks for following up with more information about where to purchase Zoya. I really want to get a few colors! I hope they have one of those 50% off sales soon! I don't twitter yet, but I did check out Zoya's page with the info you mentioned. I can see how following that would help me know when the sales are coming!

Jen, thanks for blogging with me! When I get a few colors, I'll be sure to let you know! Talk to you soon! :)

Hi, thank you! I don't have a blog but I've been considering starting one as I post nail art pics on my Facebook, and although they get compliments I feel like I'm bugging people :D Whereas a blog would probably be a better way to share my fanaticism about nail art. I'm a lurker by nature, I feel - I particularly enjoy your blog (and your YouTube vids) as I'm a vegetarian and try to be as vegan as possible, so you kind of help me out with that :)

Oh thanks for the compliments, Jenny! I am glad you like my blog and YouTube videos! I wish you the best of luck in being as vegan as you can be :) You should watch my new video about dairy alternatives if you haven't already. Please make a blog! I would love to see your nail art :)

I hope you can still read this, but I must say that I love your nails! It has the same color as the Avatar! Anyway, your two latter pics are good. You are pretty in any hairstyle you do. But you can be a head turner with your waves! You look perfect with it!
